Directive 2024/1233, which amends Directive 2011/98, establishes a single application procedure for a single permit to reside and work in the territory of a Member State, as well as a set of rights for holders of this permit and a common set of rights for third-country workers legally residing in a Member State based on equal treatment. This paper analyses each of the above contents, pointing out the differences between the previous Directive and the current one; points out the implications that the new Directive has on Spanish regulations; indicates the aspects in which Spain complies with the Directive and those in which it must introduce modifications; and concludes with some considerations on the role of the Directive analysed in the EU
